Class Overview:

🌈 The Look of Watercolor, the Magic of Glass

Get ready to fall in love with your new obsession.
In this two-part Signature Class, Tanya introduces a painterly technique using fine glass powders that captures the flowing, translucent beauty of watercolor — but it’s all 100% fused glass.

Using simple tools and layered color theory, you'll create luminous, dreamy effects that will leave viewers in awe. These aren’t just techniques — they’re full compositions. Pieces that feel like paintings... but made entirely from glass.

This method is expressive, delicate, and deeply artistic — and, totally achievable in a small kiln with no extra equipment needed..

💥 What You’ll Learn

Session 1:

  • How to use glass powders on sheet glass for painterly, fluid effects

  • Techniques for building color flow, transparency, and texture

  • How to make modular elements that mimic landscape or abstract brushwork

  • Tanya’s personal methods for layering color intentionally — no guesswork

Session 2:

  • How to thoughtfully compose your panel like a painting

  • Assembly techniques for balance, contrast, and flow

  • Firing strategies to preserve the watercolor look without muddying colors

  • How to create an 8x10 panel ready to frame — no coldworking needed

  • A kiln (technique is small-kiln friendly!)
