Kiln Requirements: Any size kiln with a digital controller.  This technique is not suggested for microwave kilns.

Equipment Requirements: Glass bench grinder or comparable 

Glass Jewelry Landscapes — Two-Session Live Class (Lifetime Replay Included)

Class Overview:

Create miniature, multi-layer landscapes in fused glass jewelry and finish them to a professional, gallery-ready standard. In two live sessions with Tanya, you’ll plan, build, and coldwork four complete pendants—learning the exact design and finishing methods that make small pieces look refined, advanced in technique and with breath taking depth.

What you’ll make

• Four finished pendants (pictured - approx. 1.5" - 2" tall) featuring ground, blended color skies, suns, moons, waves, birds, and more.

• Multi-layer compositions that read like tiny worlds—with added depth and clean, bubble-free results.

What you’ll learn

• Design & planning four small-scale landscapes: composition, focal points, and design techniques and finishing.

• Color blending with Bullseye: combine opaque + transparent thin glass to create eye-pleasing gradients and atmospheric skies.

• Part sheets & quick image prints: how to generate silhouettes and design elements in any color and incorporate them cleanly.

• Precision building in small pieces: layering strategy, seam hiding, and smart material choices to avoid bubbles and surface flaws.

• Professional coldworking for jewelry: shape, refine, and finish edges for a crisp, high-end look.

  ⚠️ Tool note: Students will need a bench glass grinder (or equivalent) to finish the pieces

Format & included access

• Two live Zoom sessions (total instruction time: 3.5 hours) with step-by-step demos and Q&A.

• Private student group to continue learning and sharing with classmates after class.

• Optional project kit available (recommended): saves substantial cost and time versus sourcing open stock.

  • Kits are labor-intensive and well-stocked with the specific materials used in class (multiple Bullseye colors and supply).

What You'll Need to Take a ZOOM Virtual Class:

• You will need a computer, tablet, or phone with a camera and microphone in order to join the online classroom. If you are unfamiliar with using Zoom then please take some time to look at our guide, available in the navigation panel.
• You should have a reliable internet connection, fast enough to make video calls or stream videos
• Please read the Student Participation Agreement
• Ensure that you have checked the materials list and purchased any materials you may require
• A pen and paper to take any notes.
• We restrict the class size to 25 people
• We teach using Bullseye Glass (CoE90)
