Kiln Requirements: Any size kiln with a digital controller.  This technique is not suggested for microwave kilns simply due to the number of firings.

Throughout this LIVE experience, Tanya Veit will teach an innovative method that focuses on creating gallery-quality jewelry through multiple layers of thin colored glass, powder & enamel imagery, linework, and embellishment—without relying on chemical etching, decals or dichroic glass as the focal point.

 In this brand-new experience, she'll introduce her newest design methods—a fresh way of thinking about fused glass jewelry that combines colorful modular layouts with layered enamel and powder imagery, symbolism, detailed basic line-work, dichroic glass (optional) thoughtful composition, glass powders, enamels and efficient batch production into one cohesive creative process.

This is a design-focused experience and you will leave with all the tools you need to continue to design and create on your own.

You'll learn how to create beautiful gallery-quality pendants without etching, imagery decals, or expensive specialty equipment. Instead, you'll discover how thoughtful layering, simple tools, efficient kiln firings, and intentional design can produce jewelry that is rich in depth, meaning, and originality.

Rather than creating one pendant at a time, Tanya will teach you how to work in organized batches, moving multiple pieces through different stages of the design process. This professional workflow helps maximize kiln firings while allowing you to build an entire signature collection instead of a series of unrelated pieces.

A major portion of this experience focuses on linework and symbolic layering using a collection of custom miniature stencil screens developed exclusively for this method. These delicate designs can be layered and combined in countless ways, giving every artist the freedom to develop their own unique artistic style. Prefer not to use the screens? You'll still benefit from the complete layering method and can apply these concepts using your own decoration and design elements.

You'll also learn Tanya's techniques for accurately grinding and shaping pendants into both geometric and organic forms, along with her firing methods for restoring a smooth, pristine kiln-fired finish after grinding.

Every student will create something different. Through your own choices of imagery, color, layering, composition, and finishing techniques, you'll develop jewelry that reflects your personal style while learning a repeatable method you can continue exploring long after the class is over.

• You will need a computer, tablet, or phone with a camera and microphone in order to join the online classroom. If you are unfamiliar with using Zoom then please take some time to look at our guide, available in the navigation panel.
• You should have a reliable internet connection, fast enough to make video calls or stream videos
• Please read the Student Participation Agreement
• Ensure that you have checked the materials list and purchased any materials you may require
• A pen and paper to take any notes.
• We restrict the class size to 25 people
• We teach using Bullseye Glass (CoE90)

We may use AI-assisted editing software to enhance promotional images and flyers by improving backgrounds, lighting, text or presentation. These tools are used solely for marketing presentation and never to generate or modify the glass artwork itself.
